Went here for the wife’s birthday lunch, it was incredible. When all the base ingredients are the highest quality, that’s when the food shines the most on its own. Kanji is the epitome of that expression. Everything, down to the soy sauce (I’m not joking, it was leaps and bounds different/better/more complex than typical soy sauce) and even the house hot sake, was outstanding quality. I came here fully expecting it to not live up to the hype. I am very happy to say, it definitely lives up to it. Kanji stands up as a shining star against all other sushi establishments in the BCS. This is a must go location in my local recommendation book now! Amazing date spot!

An exceptional dining experience. Top notch fish. Inventive flavors.

I have had sushi in 12 different states, and this is the best sushi of my life. The menu is exceptionally unique, but every item is carefully crafted to be visually stunning and serve a delicious fantasy. The Bluefin Toro roll is the must scrumptious thing I have ever eaten. The bluefin tuna belly is decident, the asain pear in the roll is refreshing, and I get an endorphine high by the time I am done eating it. I normally can't handle spicy food, but the Blazing Mango roll delivers the flavor the wasabi, jalepenos, and chili tobiko (things I can never eat) without the punch of the heat. While I may be a desert snob (I reject most deserts in College Station), Kanji's black sesame ice cream is a must-have. I have never experienced an ice cream flavor quite like it, but it has become my favorite ice cream flavor. Of course the atmosphere is incredble, and the service has always been consistantly amazing. You can even do sushi making classes! In my opinion, Kanji Sushi is the best resturant in Bryan/College Station in terms of flavor, experience, service, and consistancy.

Kanji has definitely been my new favorite sushi spot since they opened. They are always phenomenal when we have dined in for dinner(we have been several times), but tonight I got it to go. I had enough faith in them when I got my food to not check it until I got home & as always, it was perfect & all my requests were there. Can’t say that about many restaurants because when you order to go most places, the quality or service goes down. Not Kanji! Shout out to Lila for handling my whole order.

Food tasted great! Hot sake is interesting and definitely an acquired taste. Seven spice ahi tuna was crispy and flavorful. The chicken teriyaki was full of flavor yet not grease thanks to the pickled onion. Crème brûlée was amazing, light, creamy with a crunchy cover! Waitress was busy but efficient and friendly. One recommendation is to fix the tables. They’re not very stable or sturdy and therefore not up to bar for the fine dining.

Chef Lee’s Omakase is truly one of the best dining experiences in College Station. The quality and freshness of the ingredients, combined with Chef Lee’s attention to detail and mastery, deliver an unforgettable culinary experience. Without a doubt, I highly recommend it as the top sushi restaurant in the city.

I spent Valentines at Kanji with the wifee. The prefixed menu was savory, delicious and artfully plated. Cocktails were excellent, truffle desert was perfect. The service was excellent and made it a fine dining experience. Perfect place to eat if staying at the Stella hotel nearby as the walk home was less than 100 feet away. We will definitely dine there again when we visit Bryan/College station

This is possibly the best sushi I've ever had! I've been to Uchi (in two different cities) Uchico, and numerous other sushi restaurants throughout the Houston area and Kanji is firmly in my #1 spot. Everything is fresh and beautifully put together. The chefs are meticulous in their care of the food and cleanliness. The sushi itself was delicious and clearly very high quality. The Otoro was amazing and so perfect! The waitress was very informative, patient, and lovely to speak with. I cannot say enough good things! I will be back many more times and look forward to having an omakase experience with them soon!
